Sri Lanka Launches Visa-Free Entry Pilot Program for Seven Countries, Including India, China, and Russia

In a significant move, Sri Lanka has initiated a visa-free entry program for travelers from seven countries, among them India, China, and Russia. This groundbreaking decision, officially announced by the country’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ali Sabry, has garnered approval from the Sri Lanka Cabinet.

The pilot program, which is effective immediately, will run until March 31, 2024. Minister Sabry made the announcement, stating, ‘The Cabinet has given its approval for the issuance of complimentary visas to travelers from India, China, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand, as part of a pilot project that will be in operation until March 31.'”
