In the heart of a bustling metropolitan city, the least likely location to encounter a leopard, it may seem, is right in the midst of a busy road. Yet, this should not evoke too much astonishment, given the encroachment of forests and the rapid pace of urbanization. As a result, the wild creatures have been compelled to become surprising guests within urban areas. Just recently, the denizens of Whitefield, the technological hub of Bengaluru, were surprised to spot a leopard wandering about. This occurrence is just one of many instances where this elusive animal has made its presence felt in the urban core of Namma Bengaluru.
Leopard Captured Roaming the Streets of Whitefield in Bengaluru
A post from the Whitefield Rising page on X (formerly Twitter) disclosed that a leopard was sighted roaming in Whitefield, specifically in the Brookfield area. Subsequently, they issued a statement expressing their hope for the safe capture of the leopard.

The presence of the leopard was recorded on a CCTV camera as it roamed near the AECS Layout of Brookefield. Concerned local residents promptly alerted the police, providing precise information that the wild cat was observed in the A block of AECS Layout.
In response to the sighting, forest officials have launched efforts to track and safely secure the leopard, while residents have been cautioned to stay vigilant.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first instance of a leopard appearing in Bengaluru. In January of this year, a leopard was sighted within the grounds of the University of Bangalore. Then, in February, another leopard ventured into the outskirts of Bengaluru, where it unfortunately killed a calf near an agricultural field in Dasanapura.
